The North East Institute of Science and Technology of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Jorhat, is uplifting the society through its scientific interventions. Jacquard loom weaving design patterns developed by the institute has given a new dimension to the traditional handloom weaving of Assam. This has led to the development of handloom clusters and the transforming lives of women entrepreneurs.
