Growing Saffron in North East (E)
After successfully implementing a pilot project to grow good quality saffron in the Yangyang village of Sikkim, the North East Centre for Technology Application and Reach, an autonomous body under the Department of Science and Technology, is now promoting the cultivation of saffron in the other North East states as well. This initiative is yet another example of expanding the benefits of technology among people for inclusive development.
