Technique for Manufacturing Magnets (E)
Researchers from the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), Department of Science and Technology, have developed a new technique for manufacturing magnets. These magnets used in electric vehicles will increase the capacity of battery vehicles, thereby encouraging their use. The magnets currently in use are made from the rare earth metals, which are not only difficult to extract but also difficult to source as China controls their supply while continuing to dominate the magnet market.
