Water on the sunlit surface of the Moon (E)

NASA’s Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy or SOFIA has confirmed for the first time, water on the sunlit surface of the MOON. Using its FAINT OBJECT INFRARED CAMERA, the telescope was able to pick the specific wavelength unique to water molecules, at 6.1 microns, and discovered are relatively surprising concentration in sunny Clausius Crater which is also visible from the Earth.
