Prof. Perdur Radhakanta Adiga: Renowned Biochemist (E)
Prof. Perdur Radhakanta Adiga was an endocrine biochemist and reproductive biologist. He is known for his research on the vitamin-carrying protein and Lathyrus sativus, (Khesari dal). Prof.Adiga identified the neurotoxic principle from Lathyrus sativus . He also worked on enzymatic pathways of polyamine biosynthesis and regulation in plants during embryonic development. He was Professor and Chairman of the Center for Reproductive Biology and Molecular Endocrinology at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore
