The number of patents Increased in Three Years (E)
The number of patents granted to Indian scientists at the Indian Patent Office (IPO) has doubled in the last three years. According to the information provided by the Union Minister of Science and Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh, in the Rajya Sabha, 2511 patents were granted to Indian scientists in the year 2018-19, and the number increased to 4003 in the year 2019-20, and 5629 patents were granted in the year 2020-21.
