Omicron: A Worrying Variant of The Corona Virus (E)
After the World Health Organization declared Omicron ‘a worrying variant of the corona virus’ and cases of the variant were found in India, National Laboratories in the country have stepped up their corona virus genomic surveillance efforts. In view of the ongoing pandemic, the Indian SARS-CoV-2 Genomics Consortium was earlier formed, under which a network of national laboratories is continuously doing genomic surveillance of the corona virus.
