The country has faced one of the major chemical disasters in the form of Bhopal Gas Tragedy, which put a big question mark on the use of chemicals by industries. It is impossible to stop the use of chemicals for industrial development, but the India Disaster Management Institute is constantly working on minimizing the impact of this disaster. Regulations are prepared for use of chemicals by the industries and modern techniques are used to minimizing risk. Emergency facilities are available in the systems and Control Rooms have been established for off-site emergencies.
