Dwarf Mango Variety (E)
A farmer from Kota, Rajasthan has developed a dwarf mango variety that produces fruits round the year. The variety is known as Sadabahar and can also be grown in pots in the initial years. Farmer Shrikrishan Suman, prepared five grafted mango plants and it took nearly 15 years to develop this variety by preserving and preparing the grafts. The innovative attributes of the variety have been recognized by the National Innovation Foundation-India, which facilitated evaluation of this variety through Indian Institute of Horticultural Research of ICAR.
