PAU Ludhiana- Develops PBW1-Chapatti Wheat Variety (E)

The Plant Breeding and Genetics department of the Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana, has developed a new wheat variety for making softer and sweetish chapatis. The variety called PBW1-Chapatti has excellent qualities for fulfilling the demands of the chapati-lovers who yearn for the traditional taste in flatbreads. DST-PURSE scheme has proved to be instrumental in developing this variety.
