Aroma Mission: Distillation of Aromatic Oils (E)
As part of Aroma mission, CSIR scientists have developed superior quality distillation units’ .In these units, oil recovery is 10-12% higher than the conventional distillation units, oil come out in 3-4 h, requires 20-30% less fuel than the conventional type. Moreover, these units are durable and easy to maintain and are available from 200-2000kg capacity. The aroma mission has helped farmers to produce quality value-added products from essential oils like mosquito repellents developed by CSIR-IIM , alcohol-free herbal sanitizers developed by CSIR-NBRI etc.
