Param Ganga: National Supercomputing Mission (E)
Under the National Supercomputing Mission, a peta-scale supercomputer “Param Ganga” was established at IIT Roorkee recently. The National Supercomputing Mission is being jointly operated by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and is being implemented by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The four major pillars of this mission are infrastructure, applications, R&D, and human resource development working to develop an indigenous supercomputing ecosystem.
