Angora wool production was first started in Himachal Pradesh. Following its success, the Central Wool Development Board extended the project to Sikkim. This example of scientific intervention for community benefit can further enhance the credibility of Indian wool globally, by providing quality raw material to the textile industry in the future and providing rural employment, as well.
