Vaccines save lives; India has implemented a graded approach to vaccinating its massive 1.4 billion population. With two vaccines Covisheild and Covaxin already being used and Sputnik V ready to be rolled out, with half a dozen more locally made vaccines under clinical trials. It is well known that vaccines cannot prevent infection but they can prevent severity of disease, this was more than evident when the host of this show Pallava Bagla got infected with the SARS COV 2 virus, it was really his full vaccination using Covaxin that saved him from going into the intensive care unit. His treating physicians said if Pallava had not been vaccinated he may have been on ventilator.
