Soluble Temporary Pacemaker (E)

Researchers at the Northwestern and George Washington University in the US have developed a fully soluble temporary pacemaker. It is a wireless, lightweight and flexible device without a battery. A pacemaker is a device that controls and regulates the heartbeat. This tiny pacemaker can be used after heart surgery for patients waiting for a permanent pacemaker implant or for patients in need of a temporary pacemaker. All the ingredients of this pacemaker are biocompatible.
