Cancer-Causing Virus Can Infect Neuronal Cells (E)

A recent study has found that a cancer-causing virus can infect neuronal cells and cause changes in biomolecules such as fatty acids, carbohydrates, and protein components, leading to diseases of the central nervous system and brain cancer. For this study, a research team from IIT Indore used Raman microspectroscopy techniques supported by the Department of Science and Technology under the FIST scheme to explore the potential effects of a cancer-causing viruses on brain cells. The EBV virus is widely present in the human population.
