Sixth Report of the IPCC (E)

Based on the recently released sixth report of the Inter-governmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), NASA has identified 12 coastal cities in India that are at the risk of submersion by the end of this century. According to the IPCC report, sea level around Asia has been increasing at a faster rate than the average global rate. The report states that the coastal areas will see continued sea-level rise throughout the 21st century and the situation will lead to more frequent and severe coastal flooding giving rise to coastal erosion.
