Indian National Academy of Engineering comprises India’s most distinguished engineers, engineer-scientists and technologists covering the entire spectrum of engineering disciplines. The Academy provides a forum for futuristic planning for country’s development requiring engineering and technological inputs and brings together specialists from various fields. It is the only engineering Academy of the country. INAE represents India at the International Council of Academies of Engineering and Technological Sciences or CAETS which comprises of member Academies from 30 countries across the world, with the objective of contributing to the advancement of science and technology and promoting sustainable economic growth of all nations. INAE’s mission is to disseminate information, among its members on all matters of engineering and to encourage, assist and extend knowledge and information by publishing proceedings, journals, memoires and other publications and hold meetings, lectures, seminars and symposia. INAE’s Vision is to promote and advance the practice of engineering and technology and the related sciences and disciplines in India and their application to problems of national importance. Indian National Academy of Engineering has been giving a major thrust in carrying out activities on issues of national importance, where engineering interventions can provide the needed solutions. The INAE Vision 2020-2025 is to be the premier Engineering Academy of the World providing timely inputs to the national and international policy makers, and to extend appropriate assistance in developing engineered solutions for the challenging problems facing contemporary societies and the humanity as a whole.
