Climate Change and Flower (E)

According to a recent study by the University of Cambridge, climate change is causing plants in the UK to flower a month earlier on average….and this change could have profound consequences for wildlife, agriculture and gardeners. Forthe study, the researchers used over 400,000 records from Nature’s Calendar, maintained by the Woodland Trust, to study changes in 406 flowering plant species in the UK between 1753 and 2019. It was found that the average first flowering date from 1987 to 2019 was one whole month earlier than the average date from 1753 to 1986. This period coincides with the acceleration of global warming from human activities.
