Fellowships, Grants and Scholarships (E)
The Union Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Dr. Jitendra Singh has proposed a common single application for all scientific fellowships, grants and scholarships. The union minister made this proposal during a high level meeting of all Secretaries of Science Ministries and Science Departments. At present, a number of fellowship and scholarship schemes are being run under the Ministry of Science and Technology and Ministry of Earth Sciences to encourage the young researchers and students at various levels. However, the applicants have to devote a lot of time to apply at different portals in different formats before facing multiple exams or interviews. The creation of a single web interface will simplify the process to a great extent.
