SMART Scheme (E)
The National Commission for Indian Systems of Medicine and the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences, functioning under the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, have established the Scope for Mainstreaming Ayurveda Research in Teaching or SMART to promote scientific research in priority health areas through Ayurveda colleges and hospitals. Ayurveda is one of the ancient systems of medicine that has immense potential to cure diseases, but it has been observed that the research potential of the vast community associated with Ayurveda has not been harnessed, appropriately.
