"Indo-Israeli Friendship is Fruiting! Well Beyond Bombs! Israel is well known for its precision agriculture and use of drip irrigation and green houses to enhance agricultural output. A close look at tomato plants that are 17 meters long that, yield fruits almost around the year. A walk through various different green houses that Indian farmers are adopting. In India as part of Indo-Israeli co-operation the Centre of Excellence for Vegetables in Haryana has done remarkably well. Israel has introduced high value vegetables and brought in technology to enhance the yields. The centre uses sophisticated drip irrigation, mist irrigation and poly green houses to bring in high-technology for Indian farmers. Most of us are familiar of Indo-Israeli co-operation in space and defence but this is a soft but lasting diplomacy. Cucumber, bell peppers, tomatoes, broccoli, cauliflower, and strawberries were in full bloom at the center and this agriculture diplomacy from Israel is contributing to the doubling of the income of farmers.
