Pharmaceutical Contamination in River Cauvery (E)
Researchers at IIT Madras have detected high levels of pharmaceutical contaminants in the Cauvery River. The study, carried out with joint funding from Water Technology Initiatives of the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and the UK Natural Environment Research Council, highlights the increasing risk to life from river pollution. This study has also emphasized the need to rigorously implement wastewater treatment techniques.
