Antimicrobials are medicines that are used to treat infections caused by various pathogens. But, according to the scientists, Anti-microbial resistance or AMR is weakening the efficacy of these medicines, and various kinds of superbugs are bound to emerge in the near future. Now for effective monitoring of such changes, researchers have developed low-cost, field-deployable sensors to detect antimicrobials and anti-biotic resistant genes in water bodies.
