Nucleic Acid Based Testing Technology (E)
On April 21st, IIT Kharagpur launched its innovative diagnostic testing tool, ‘COVIRAP’ globally. This step-wise isothermal nucleic acid-based testing technology will allow for quick screening of other pathogens as well, besides SARS-CoV-2.The point-of-care diagnostic device can also be used by unskilled health workers, as no intermediate manual intervention is needed between sample loading and result dissemination.
