Novel Procedure To Treat Eye Cancer (E)
New Delhi-based Army Hospital Research and Referral has introduced a new way of treating eye cancer. A team of ophthalmologists and ocular oncologists from the hospital successfully performed Plaque Brachytherapy on the eye of a four-year-old child. Due to cancer, this child had already lost his left eye and was on the verge of losing his right one. The surgery was performed by the medical team using a localized radiation treatment procedure.
