Model to Detect Blight Disease in Potato Crop (E)
Saving crops from diseases is an important step towards increasing the income of farmers and strengthening the economy. Working towards this goal, researchers from IIT Mandi have now developed a computational model for automated disease detection in potato crops. The model uses photographs of potato leaves to detect potato blight and has found to be highly precise in doing so. The researchers are now working to convert the developed tool into a smart-phone application for a more practical usage.
