Light From Behind A Black Hole (E)

Astronomers have for the first-time detected light from behind a black hole. According to Einstein’s theory of general relativity, massive objects like black holes warp the fabric of space-time. Which means, space-time bend around them, creating curved paths that objects must follow as they travel. Researchers from Standford University observed this phenomenon in the form X-ray echoes, in January 2020, using the ESA’s XMM Newton and NASA’s NuSTAR space telescopes.
