Helicobacter Pylori Bacteria (E)

Researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology Indore have revealed the cause of compromised immunity among gastric patients. Researchers have elucidated the role of outer membrane proteins HomA and HomB of the Helicobacter pylori bacteria in altering immune cells’ function. Chronic inflammation in the stomach area is associated with bacteria Helicobacter pylori as it causes ulcers and mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma.., leading to gastric malignancies. This new study has shown the molecular mechanism of B-cells immune suppression by the outer membrane proteins of the bacteria, leading to weakened immunity in gastric patients.
