Doctor on Wheels (E)
A state-of-the-art health van Doctor on Wheels was launched last month from the Doda district of Jammu by the Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh. Implemented under the Aarogya digital healthcare project, the initiative is an effort by the Government of India to provide adequate health services to people staying in remote mountainous areas. This service was started from Gandoh, a border area of Doda district.., and is now providing relief to people in nearby areas as well. Here is a Science Monitor report.
