CSIR-Indian Institute of Petroleum in association with GIAL has developed a new technology to dispose of plastic The process has the potential to solve the the problem of waste plastic disposal in an economical and environmentally friendly way. It can augment the supply of fuel and chemicals. The plant-based on this the process can be set up at various capacities ranging from 1TPD to a larger scale. CSIR-IIP has also developed a new technology for biogas production to be used in transportation sector
