Over the years a number of measures have been taken to treat water pollution and one of them is water filtering technology. From homes to public places, water filters are used by people in hope of getting clean water yet most of the filters are unable to remove metal pollutants. To provide a solution to this problem the Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute in Kolkata has developed new type of ceramic membrane. This unit of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research is the country's leading institute in the field of research and development of ceramic membranes.
