ARI, Pune Developed Biofortified, High Protein Wheat Variety (E)

Scientists at the Pune based Agharkar Research Institute, an autonomous institute under the Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, have developed a biofortified, high protein variety of wheat. This variety has become increasingly popular among farmers in the last two years. due to its anti-pest and disease-resistant properties, and high yield potential. This variety of wheat can also prove to be helpful in the National Nutrition Campaign.
