28 August 2021 - The Freedom Struggle and Scientific Community (E) part-2

"The intellectual struggle against the British intensified after 1900 and our intelligentsia fought tooth and nail to achieve intellectual and scientific freedom. In this episode of Science for a Self Relinat India, we will look at personalities, institutions and the societies which shaped the scientific landscape of our country from 1900 to 1947. This was a very fertile time in the development of western science and technology in India, from the establishment of the Science Congress in 1914 to C.V Raman’s Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930 - Indians were becoming a global force to reckon with. Not only did scientists such as Acharya Prafulla Chandra Ray and J.C Bose influence the indigenous science movement but also had an enormous impact on the overall trajectory of the growth of our country. This and a lot more, only on India Science."
