World's Largest Vaccination Campaign (E)
The world's largest vaccination campaign being run by the Government of India has now crossed the figure of more than 150 million doses. According to an official release, the central govt has provided more than 157.36 crore vaccine doses to states and UTs, till 13 January 2022, and more than 15 crore surplus and unused COVID vaccine doses are still available with the states. Vaccination is considered to be the best protection measure amid the increasing spread of new variants of SARS-CoV-2 and India started the first phase of its COVID-immunization drive in January 2021.
