Padma Awards (E)
Padma Awards for the year 2020 and the year 2021 were presented in separate ceremonies held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on November 8th and 9th. In all, 7 Padma Vibhushan, 16 Padma Bhushan and 118 Padma Shri were awarded for the year 2020 by the President. For the year 2021, 7 people were conferred the Padma Vibhushan, 10 with the Padma Bhushan and 102 with the Padma Shri. These awards are given to citizens for their outstanding contributions to various fields including science and technology. Eminent epidemiologist Dr. Raman Gangakhedkar and Air Marshal Dr. Padma Bandyopadhyay were also among the winners. The Vice President, the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister were among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
