Indian researchers have developed an innovative mechanism to inhibit the entry of SARS-CoV-2 into cells by reducing its infection potential. The research, jointly conducted by the Indian Institute of Science and CSIR’s Institute of Microbial Technology, designed a new class of synthetic peptides that could not only block SARS-CoV-2 from entering cells but also reduce their ability to infect.
